What are Connectors
Connectors are integrations that bring data from various tools into one searchable place in GoSearch.
- They combine documents, messages, tickets, and more into a centralized search.
- You can use personal connectors for individual data and workspace connectors for shared/team data.
- Connectors allow you to unlock faster and broader access to your organization’s knowledge.
Workspace Connectors vs. Personal Connectors
| Workspace Connectors | Personal Connectors | |
| Setup By | GoSearch admins | Individual members |
| Data Source | Company-managed accounts (shared Google Drive, Slack workspaces, Jira projects) | Individual user accounts to allow GoSearch to access data that only the individual can access |
| Accessibility | Data is accessible to all permitted users within the GoSearch workspace; admins can manage access by user groups | Data is private; only visible and searchable to the member who set up the connector |
| Primary Purpose | Enables teams to search across shared files and project content, improving collaboration and knowledge discovery | Allows users to search their personal information, boosting individual productivity while maintaining privacy |
| Permission Model | Follows the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP); users see only what they’re already granted access to in the source applications | Follows individual user permissions; only the data accessible to the user is indexed and searchable |
| Control Over Data | Admins set up, manage, and can restrict or grant access to workspace connector data | Each user controls their own personal connectors and the data being indexed. Admins can configure which personal connectors are available to users. |
What data can be accessed via Connectors
GoSearch respects all source application permissions.
- You can only search for content you already have access to.
- If you can’t open a file in Google Drive or view a Slack channel, you won’t see it in GoSearch.
- Admins and end users have the same permission rules, so even admins can’t view documents they don’t have access to.
What data appears in GoSearch search results
Search results are powered by smart matching and semantic understanding.
- Matches are based on title, description, file name, author/owner, and other indexed fields
- GoSearch sees semantic search to understand meaning and context, not just keywords.
What data is available in GoAI
GoAI delivers richer, more dynamic answers using expanded data.
- It goes beyond standard search fields and may include comments, schedules, ticket status, and last activity.
- This helps it generate summaries, context-aware responses, and timely, updated insights
What data is indexed
GoSearch indexes data using strict privacy and security protocols. We follow the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP) and only index necessary data.
- Before connecting, admins can see what gets indexed, what GoAI fetches, and what permissions apply
- The Indexing schedule consists of a partial sync every 5 minutes and a full reindex every week
- Data is encrypted and never exposed to unauthorized users.
