API usage
- SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language): Precise record retrieval and incremental syncs.
- SOSL (Salesforce Object Search Language): Cross‑object keyword search when GoAI needs to sweep multiple objects not yet indexed. Think of it as Salesforce’s built-in search engine.
Pagination, and token refresh are handled automatically. Admins can adjust API rate limits.
Sync & freshness model
- Initial Sync: Runs once when the connector is added.
- Incremental Updates: Every 5 minutes by default.
- Real-Time Fetch: On‑demand SOQL/SOSL calls for the latest data. Any standard object and field can be pulled by GoAI via SOQL.
Setting up the connector
- From your GoSearch dashboard, navigate to Manage connectors in the left-hand menu.
- Click the tab that says Workspace connectors, click Add connector, and find the Salesforce workspace connector.
- Click Connect, review the necessary permissions, and click Connect to Salesforce.
- Click Allow to give GoSearch access to Salesforce.
- Optionally, name your connection.
- Remember, you can create multiple connections for the same application to be used with different User Groups if desired, so be descriptive when naming your connection.
- Optionally, specify an API call limit to avoid hitting rate caps.
- Then select whether to include all historical data or start from a specific date.
- Click Next: Select groups and select the user groups that you want to have access to that Connection and click Done
- Lastly, once synced, run a test query in GoSearch to ensure that the data in the Salesforce workspace connector is available for you and your team members.
Access permissions
GoSearch connectors follow the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP), ensuring that only data all users have access to in the source application is pulled in via workspace connectors.
Private or restricted data is inaccessible through the Salesforce workspace connector. Workspace connectors can be further limited by assigning access to specific User Groups, so only the right teams see the appropriate resources within GoSearch.
