Personal connectors in GoSearch empower users to integrate their own accounts from supported apps such as Google Drive, Gmail, or Slack into their personalized search environment.
- Users can search across personal files, emails, and messages alongside workspace content.
- Privacy is fully maintained—no one else can see or access personal connector data.
- Enabling connectors helps unify individual work tools into a single search view.
How they work
Personal connectors are set up by each user, allowing the selective integration of their unique accounts. Only content the user has access to is made searchable.
- For example, a Google Drive personal connector only indexes files/folders the user can open.
- Files not shared with the user will not show up.
For files meant to be shared org-wide, admins should set up a workspace connector to ensure data can be indexed and available to everyone, regardless of their personal connector setup.
Privacy and Security
Personal connectors are built to protect individual privacy.
- Indexed content is only searchable by the user who connected it
- Admins and teammates cannot access, search, or discover personal connector content
- This keeps sensitive content like emails and personal docs private while enabling efficient search.
Permissions and Access
GoSearch inherits access rights from the connected app.
- If you can’t open it in the original system, you won’t see it in GoSearch.
- No permissions are expanded, so GoSearch only shows what’s already visible to you.
Real-Time Fetch
Unlike workspace connectors, personal connectors do not index your data.
- GoSearch uses real-time fetch to access content on demand.
- This means GoSearch retrieves content at the time of your search and no copies of your data are ever stored.
This keeps your data private and secure and ensures up-to-date access to recent files, new emails, and the latest messages.
You should now be ready to set up your personal connectors. If you need further assistance, please consult the GoSearch Help Center.
