Adel Danandeh: My name is Adel Danandeh. I am the Head of IT at DataStax, where we provide an AI platform as a service that allows developers to build GenAI applications that match the scale of their ambition. We make it easy to build and deploy AI apps.

I am passionate about technology. I’ve spent over a decade in the IT business, and it’s truly amazing to see how technology has evolved, opening up so many more possibilities!

Adel Danandeh:The possibilities are limitless. We’re all challenged not to fall victim to our old habits of thinking and strategizing when it comes to solving problems. I’ve encountered many non-technical individuals at tech conferences, which wasn’t the case back in the day. Most verticals in businesses are empowered to build more efficient processes now.

Adel Danandeh: It all starts with deeply understanding the problem we’re trying to solve. AI can help by automating repetitive tasks, making better predictions, and improving personalization. It can also boost security and streamline operations, making things more efficient and user-friendly. The key is to integrate AI where it adds real value—whether through chatbots, data insights, or better decision-making—without overcomplicating things.

Question: What challenges do you anticipate in adopting new AI technologies, and how can we overcome them?

Adel Danandeh: Some of the biggest challenges in AI adoption include data quality issues, integration with existing systems, high costs, and security risks. Overcoming these challenges requires strong data governance, gradual implementation, clear ROI measurement, employee training, compliance monitoring, and robust security measures. Adel Danandeh: Check and balances, along with guard rails. To be more specific, you need to:

• Conduct Regular Audits: Test for fairness, detect biases, and do regular reviews.
• Gather User Feedback: Allow users to report biases and continuously improve models.

Question: What skills are essential for IT and security teams to stay ahead in AI and technology?

Adel Danandeh: Almost every SaaS company now has some AI presence; the real question is, what problem are you trying to solve? It’s critical to be purpose-driven while maintaining a holistic view of your ecosystem. My philosophy has been consistent over the years: I never start by looking for solutions; I begin by thoroughly understanding the problem statement first. My best advice is to be curious, open-minded, and flexible for change as the full capabilities of AI unfold.
